Simple strategies for healthy eating (try ‘em)

Healthy eating strategies

Honey and lemon

        Start your day with a glass of warm water with a spoon of honey and a few drops of lemon. The sugar in honey gives you instant energy to kick start your day. Good for the kidneys too.

Go fibers!

        Fibers speed the passage of food through the digestive system and helps fight constipation. Eat seed containing fruits and vegetables, as they are a great source of fiber. Cereal, legumes and an apple are ample.

Shun the salt

        Avoid eating extra salt as it makes you retain water.

Get drunk

        Yes! Get drunk, but with water. Drinking 2 - 3 liters of water daily is a must. Water supports everything from digestion to secretion. It flushes out the waste from our body. It will also add that glow to your face.

No skipping

        Skipping any meal is very harmful for the system. For those who get up late - do not miss breakfast as it is the most important meal of the day. Ideally the breakfast should be the heaviest meal of the day. 

For those who are too busy to have lunch or who buy lunch –

        You could start with packing some lunch. It need not be a sumptuous meal, a sandwich made with whole grain bread and stuffed with grated carrots, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers and lettuce or salad leaves should suffice.
