GOD IS ALWAYS NEAR
One thing can always cheer me

How pain and sadness in our lives,

When best of human efforts
doesn't meet the day's demand,

A.N. SINGH CHAUHAN, born in 1948,
the year of Independence of INDIA, at PADRAUNA in KUSHI NAGAR, Where Lord GAUTAM
BUDDHA, who initiated Baudh Religion in India, Sri Lanka, China and Japan etc.,
delivered his last sermon to his disciples before MAHA NIRVANA there, in a
family of Freedom Fighter and Social Reformer. His father Late Sri Rudra Narain
Singh Chauhan was associated with I.N.T.U.C., I.N.S.M.W.F., International Labour
Organisation and Arya Samaj. Including himself, A.N. Singh Chauhan have six
brothers and two sisters. All the six brothers are specialist in different
fields such as Law/ Commerce, Textile Technology, Medical, Agriculture,
Economics, Education etc. A.N. Singh Chauhan has two sons, one Mr. SANJAY
CHAUHAN who was Manager in a leading Private Sector Organisation Siel Group of
Companies (died in an road accident in 2002) and other Dr. HIMANSHU CHAUHAN is
M.B.B.S. / M.D. (Skin and VD ) is presently working as Regional Director of
Indian MNC Himami/Emami in Ukraine.

CHAUHAN did his under graduation from U.N. Kshatriya College, PADRAUNA (KUSHI
NAGAR), Graduation from ALLAHABAD and M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from AGRA
UNIVERSITY in 1966. He had the honor of being topper in the University. He also
submitted Thesis on “Working, Organisation and Role of Cooperative Cane
Development Unions in State of Uttar Pradesh.”
Thereafter
A.N. Singh Chauhan has been associated with Research Work, Educational
Institutions, Marketing assignment and SUGAR INDUSTRY for Development of
SUGARCANE, SUGAR Manufacturing and its Management. He under took three months
intensive training in SUGARCANE development Technology from Indian Institute of
Sugarcane Research (IISR), Lucknow, a premier and only Sugarcane Institute in
India providing such an intensive and practical training on the subject of
Sugarcane Development Technology. In addition to this, he also attended training
programmes related with SUGARCANE, SUGAR and SUGAR INDUSTRY at various National
Institutes of International repute like National Sugar Institute (N.S.I.),
Kanpur, Sugarcane Breeding Institute (I.C.A.R –S.B.I.), Coimbatore, Vasantdada
Sugar Institute (V.S.I.), Pune, Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative
Management, Pune, Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration,
Chandigarh, Management Development Institute (M.D.I.), New Delhi, Ganna Kisan
Sansthan, Lucknow and also such programmes organised by IFCI, New Delhi,
Industrial Management Services, New Delhi, National Productivity Council,
Kanpur, Indian Sugar Mills Association (I.S.M.A.), New Delhi, National
Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Ltd., (N.F.C.S.F. Ltd.), New Delhi,
Sugar Technologists Association of India, New Delhi, Confederation of Indian
Industries (C.I.I.), New Delhi and Chandigarh, Sugarfed, Punjab, All India
Coordinated Research Project on Sugarcane, I.I.S.R., Lucknow, XXII Congress of
International Society of Sugarcane Technologists, (I.S.S.C.T.) Mauritius at New
Delhi and L.M.A., Ludhiana.

Chauhan visited almost all the SUGARCANE and SUGAR Institutes of India for Study
of Sugarcane and Sugar Technology and also studied the Sugarcane Management
Systems in South Indian States and working of modern milling and processing
equipments in other States of India, apart from U.P. and Punjab.

Chauhan has experience of working in Private, Corporation and Cooperative sector
Sugar Industry in State of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. He has been Chief Cane
Development and Marketing Officer in U.P. State Sugar Corporation Ltd., Lucknow,
Chief Cane Officer in U.P. Coop. Sugar Factories Federation Ltd., Lucknow and
Chief Cane Manager in Private Sector Sugar Industries located in East, Central
and Western parts of the State of Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, was
Managing Director in Cooperative Sector Sugar Mills of Punjab State under SUGARFED,
Punjab and presently General Manager with The United Provinces Sugar company
Ltd., Tamkuhi Road. PO Seorahi (Kushi Nagar).

Chauhan has been closely associated with “Aakashwani” i.e. ALL INDIA RADIO,
Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Rampur and Jullundhur. He has been member of “Rural
Programme Advisory Board” and “General Programme Advisory Board” of All India
Radio. With his efforts and inspiration, a new programme was successfully
launched by “Aakashwani”, Rampur known as “Farm School on AIR” and under this,
20 episode educational courses on “Improved methods of Sugarcane Cultivation”
was put on ALL INDIA RADIO broadcast for the benefit of Sugarcane farmers. Mr.
Chauhan is a regular talker on topics related with Agriculture Technology and
subjects of Social and public interest.
Mr. Chauhan
has over 100 research and development papers to his credit and were published
many times in Yojana (Planning Commission, New Delhi), Tycord Manjari (KOTA),
Ganna Masik (Lucknow), Ganna Samachar (Lucknow), IFFCO (Gorakhpur/Bareilly),
Gram Lok (Basti), Ganna Kheti (All India Radio, Rampur), Majhola –Chini Ganna
Sahkar (Majhola) Daurala, Ganna Patrika (Daurala), Swaraj Sandesh (New Delhi),
Krishak Pariwar (New Delhi), Kisan Bharti (G.B. Pant University of Agri. &
Tech., Pant Nagar), Ganne Ki Pragatisheel Kheti (U.P. Govt., Lucknow), etc. Mr.
Chauhan has also been Chief Editor and Publisher of L.H.S.F. Ganna Samachar.

Chauhan served Rotary International Club, Pilibhit as Director, Vocational and
Community Services and Organised Intercity Meet on “Rotary in Rural
Development.” With his efforts and motivation, Rotary Club adopted a village for
its overall development. Impressed by this experiment, Rotary International also
included village/ Rural Development Schemes in its future planning and
programmes. He motivated mass campaign for Eye donation, not only with Rotarians
but from persons of all walks of life. Rotary International Governor nominated
A.N. Singh Chauhan as Chairman, Eye relief Committee. In an Inter District meet,
his address on “Rotary in World Peace” was recognised and he was awarded for
Best Presentation on the subject.
Mr. Chauhan
has been Hony. Secretary of District Cricket Association, Pilibhit as well as
Distt. Badminton Association, Pilibhit. During tenure of A.N. Singh Chauhan, Two
RANJI TROPHY CRICKET Matches were successfully organised and souvenirs were
edited and published by him on the occasion. He also arranged coaches and
organised coaching camps for training the young sports persons in cricket and
Badminton. He served as Marshall for four check points in Himalayan Car Rally.
He has also been member of N.E. Railway Advisory Committee.
Mr. Chauhan
has represented Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) in Indian Sugarcane Development Council,
New Delhi. He is fellow of Indian Sugarcane Technologists Association, Lucknow,
Sugar Technologist Association of India and member of International Society of
Sugarcane Technologists (I.S.S.C.T), Mauritius. He takes interest and initiative in
research and finding solutions to the local problems and tries to disseminate
the results obtained by publicity and extension methods to the concerned
persons/communities. He emphasises on the “SHOW HOW” technique i.e. “Seeing is
believing “ i.e. instead of just talking to the people, show/ demonstrate the
technique by practically performing the task.

Chauhan is an able Administrator, Speaker / Orator and Sports person. Writing,
Photography, travel and service to human being through business and profession
is his hobby. He is a thinker, who tries to give words to the feelings of the
masses towards current affairs related to society, environment, politics and
over on his own profession in SUGAR INDUSTRY.
